yeah..much awaited race of our place..last year attracted 41 teams..much greater than 23 team sa coastal race..it was a race well represented around the region..5 teams from cebu, other teams from ormoc, baybay, maasin, tanaun, catarman, palo, borongan..they are targeting na mg.abot ni ug 50 teams karon na year..daghan naman mga groups from biliran, catbalogan and calbayog..

mao man gud ni ang 1st mini.adventure race country and the longest running..started around 2000 right after elf authentic adventure.. Grin race director of this race is no other than jason garrido of carrera habagat..mao na as expected..nose bleed jud ang gawas!

i dunno kung mka.attend ko sa christmas party!! mao man cguro ni gitawag na conflict of interest..

ahehehe..ang last year to ang 5 teams..most of them from USC-M! Grin Grin
pro mubalik daw ang uban nila this year..walay site joecax pro pwede ra cguro ko katubag inqueries kay mostly mao jud pattern sa race every year..

3 man team (1 member of opposite sex)
24 hours
orienteering (advance orienteering is a must)
3 buoyancy aid (fins and hand paddle encouraged)
reg fee 600 (sa last year pa ni..hope wala increase..includes shirt, patches, race kit, socials (dinner, awarding, party, gulp gulp)

goin to tacloban..

plane (PAL/cebupac)
everyday trip
less than 1 hour travel
**mka.avail mo less than 1k na ticket if purchased this early

fast ferry (supercat/weesam) to ormoc
3x daily
2 hours boat..2 hours bus
**650 one way..bus included (supercat)
   120 ormoc tacloban (bus/v.hire)


slow boat to ormoc (roble/ superferry)

sferry (SWF 12nn) roble (daily 10am)
**price range less than 500..bus not included

slow boat to hilongos/baybay city
nightly trips
**around 200 ang boat and 150 ang bus to tacloban..mao ni ang cheapest fare pero gamay ni na boat and limited ra ang bus/v.hire to tacloban

kung uli ko..i prefer supercat kay comfortable bsan mahal ug gamay..fast and thrice a day pa ang trip..kung wa njud budget..mao mgpa.hilongos ra ko..

LA ROUTA 2009 RULE BOOK:

I. ORGANIZATION
1. LA ROUTA 2009 is organized by BUKID OUTDOOR SHOP and HABAGAT OUTDOOR EQUIPTMENT.
2. LA ROUTA limits the number of participating teams for the activity. The organizers reserve the right to accept or reject any competitors.
3. Three-person team, one of whom belong to the opposite sex registers with the organization.
4. Registration fee is Php600.00 per team. It includes the general organization of the race, organization of the field, equipment for some of the disciplines,event shirts, competition map, event patches, team number patches.
5. Registration constitutes complete acceptance of the organization rules and regulations by the competitors.
6. In case of FORCE MAJUERE, the race may be postponed.

II. TEAMS
1. All competitors must be at least 18 years of age. No MINORS are allowed to participate. Automatic disqualification of the team if found out.
2. All teams must designate a team captain and inform the organization accordingly.
3. All teams must provide their own uniforms.
4. It is mandatory that the competitors wear their own uniforms.
5. Violation to the rules will be grounds for disqualification.

III. MANDATORY EQUIPMENTS
1. Each team member must have the following mandatory equipments at all times during the race:
Helmet 1 per team
Vest 3 per team
Knife 3 per team
First Aid Kit 1 per team
Compass 1 per team
Cell Phone 1 per team
Whistle 3 per team

IV. OTHER RACE EQUIPMENTS
1. There will be a mandatory equipment check prior to the start of the race.
2. Equipment to be used will be determined according to the disciplines. Other equipments needed for each discipline must be provided for by the teams at the start and must comply with the rules and regulations and specifications set by the organization.
3. The organization has the right to disapprove or withhold any equipment that could be detrimental to the safety of the competitors or provide unfair advantage to the team.

V. PROHIBITED EQUIPMENTS
GPS, Weapons, Banned Substances (Natural/Synthetic)

VI. UNIFORM
1. Team uniforms should be complete with organizational markings, event patches and team number and must always be worn at all times during the course of the activity.
2. Team uniforms without the organizational markings will not be considered and will be grounds for disqualification.

VII. SPONSORS
1. Teams are encouraged to look for their own sponsors and may place their sponsor's logos in their own uniform and equipment in the following areas:
CLOTHING:
Right Chest 4x4 maximum
Upper left arm 4x4 maximum
Left thigh, side 4x4 maximum
2. Locations reserved for the organizational markings.
CLOTHING:
Middle of chest for event patches
Upper right arm for team numbers

VIII. GENERAL RULES
1. Final team members list should be submitted to the organization before the start of the race.
2. Only official registered teams will be allowed to compete in the race.
3. Only one (1) official passport and event maps will be used during the race. Loss of one or both of these items will be grounds for disqualification.
4. Assistance from outside the team will be rounds for disqualification.
5. All competing teams will depart en masse from a designated starting line, passing through all control points and arrive at the finish line before a designated cut-off time.
6. A missing control point will be grounds for disqualification.
7. Vandalism to the route, flora and fauna is to be grounds for disqualification.
8. All teams are required to check in at all designated control points in their proper order.
9. The team that crosses the finish line first, taking into account any possible penalties will be declared the winner.
10. Only teams that are complete upon arrival at any designated control point will be classified.
11. The reference time recorded shall be based upon the last member's time of crossing the line.
12. Withdrawal is authorized at any control point.
13. CP Marshal must be notified of any withdrawal.
14. weather conditions may lead to modification of the route.
15. A protest fee is set at Php500.00 for a protest to be considered legal by the organizers.
16. A protest done in writing must be submitted to the organizers before the race ends.
17. Support staff of each team must be at least 50 meters away during the entire course of the race.
