I know both olympic and standard distance terminology are the same but i think one of them is the preferred terminology of ITU? Anybody knows about this?

If i'm not mistaken (please don't quote me on this)  the ITU prefers to use the term "International/Standard Distance" which is equivalent to the "Olympic Distance" triathlon.

I read an article that the IOC claims they own the Olympic brand name and they are the only organization who can use the Olympic name.   It's all about legal issues or even political,  if I can find the article again I will post.  Basically the IOC doesn't want the Olympic name to be used if the event is not associated to the IOC.   

It's kinda the same idea if the race director or organization didn't pay the license  to use the name "Ironman"  they are not allowed to use that name even if the distance is the same as 70.3 or 140.6.

karun ra jud tawn na open akong mind ani.. so we can have a full ironman without paying any royalty as long as we dont use the word ironman.

yes correct.
There was an iron distance one time held in matabungkay, batangas. They called it Philippine ironman (http://www.philstar.com/Article.aspx?articleId=180325). If i recall correctly, just a couple of weeks before race day it was suddenly renamed to something like philippine long distance triathlon

So there was a full IM held here in the Philippines! only its not called Ironman.
