By the way we need some inputs about the new category, Kapyot division. These two words were the first that came out when we talked about the new category. Any suggestions? We are open for a change in naming the new category if any.

if no one is in a hurry, hope we can do the duathlon first then after 1 hour have the tri, so RJ and I can join both, hehehe. Seriously, this can be good so the "duathletes" can hang around and watch the Triathlon, then hopefully be inspired to add the swimming event, after all there is already a "kapyot" division, next time.

if one intention is to boost triathlon, then i would suggest start the swim first so all can see the exciting swim start. then if you have enough man power start the duathlon 10mins after the swim start. strong swimmers might be out of the water 4-5mins then enter T1 while the duathletes line up the start line for their first 3k. now as duathletes enter T1 hopefully all triathletes are out on the bike, if not this is ok since it wont be as crowded anyway and you already got the strong guys out on the road. im guessin the bike course for tri and du is the same. so this means the slow tri swimmers/cyclist might be passed by the strong du runners/cyclist, again this is ok since they will be on the same course.

now both tri and du enter into T2 and head out for final 3k run. this would make the race more exciting since you'll have more athletes on the run course for the final leg. this will also be helpful for athletes to see more people on the run course since we all know you cant draft on the bike but you can pace your eyeballs out with someone on the run.

now on the finish. to make sorting out easy between the tri and du athletes i suggest use different number ranges for triathlon and duathlon participants. like triathletes would take numbers 1-100 and duathlon will be numbered 101-200 or something like that. also one last thing to make the race more exciting it would be nice on body markings that on the athletes right calf they are marked with their race number to distinguish if they are in the tri or du division and on their left calf they are marked with their age so racers will easily spot on the bike and run if someone ahead of them or someone who may have just passed them is in their division and is a threat to their age group they are in and may want to chase them down.

this will also make the race run quicker and finish earlier since youll have triathletes and duathletes finishin in succession. then you'll have more time spent on finishin area for athletes tri and du alike in sharing their personal stories and experiences out on course. just a suggestion, hope this helps.

Thanks all for the inputs!

By the way we start triathlon at 8AM and duathlon at 10AM. This gives chance to those who are interested in joining both events.
