I've read an article from sunstar

http://www.sunstar.com.ph/cebu/sports/2011/05/05/habagat-hold-adventure-race-camotes-153757

AS A kickoff event for their adventure racing series, Habagat in coordination with the municipality of San Francisco, Poro and Tudela will hold the Carrera Verano Camotes on May 14.

The event will be a one-day racing series of various disciplines such as mountain biking, trail running and swimming. It will start at Tudela and finish at Santiago Beach Campsite at San Francisco.

Post your prayers and condolences for Cebu Vice Governor Greg Sanchez's family.

“Participants could use this as training for the bigger adventure event we’ll organize in the third quarter of the year,” said Randy Su of Habagat.

The event, which also aims to promote Camotes Island, has a route that will take runners to the different tourist spots of the island.

Competitors could enjoy the scenic view from Tuledo passing by the coastal areas of Poro which has a natural rock formation called Boho and reaching San Francisco for the finish.

Registration is P700 per team and registration areas are set at Habagat SM City-Cebu and ROX Ayala Center Cebu. Each team should have three members and must have at least one female member.

However, participants who will avail of a ticket at the Joomalia Shipping Lines will get free registration as long as they present their boat tickets at the Habagat Registration Booth at the Mangudlong Paradise Resort on or before May 13.

Organizers will allow onsite registration an hour prior to the race at the starting area of the municipal grounds of Tudela.

The top three teams will be awarded cash prizes and trophies. The champion will receive P10,000, while the second and third placers will get P7,000 and P3,000, respectively.
