I tried to see any write ups of the game but failed to see one so i dared to make mine.
Transition Area The racks accomodated all since i didnt see any bike on the ground or left out on its own. The trays were consolation but it was the gazeeboo tent which covered the whole area that was a plus. I remember in medellin when a tire blew off while still on the rack when the bike was exposed to the sun. The marshals are also to be given credit for restricting the area to outsiders considering the valuables inside. Considering the number of players at 200, which far exceeds the normal of 50 or so, it was understandable that the place was a little cramped. Im sure the area will be expanded next year.
Swim It was timely and effective that the swimmers were released in 4 waves given the limits of the lagoon. That islet at the starting area gave me a reprieve and a breather before plunging into the next loop. The elements of current, irrelevant and sharp objects, and waves or chops being absent, made the swim relatively smooth. Note worthy is the fact that the buoys lined up the whole course of the swim which minimized the heads up. Between the lagoon and open water, I prefer the first efficient-wise but i miss the challenge of the second.
Bike I always end up at the tail of every peloton i go with hence, i wasnt surprised when people especially those on tri-b whizzed me by. On the gradient of the road, i managed to hit 35kph on that descent going to bahia but that was only it, the rest ranged between 24-30 which is my normal on flat course. On the type of the surface, i was a little concerned of my tires in those bumpy areas before descending to bahia and about 100m or so going to cordova. Had it been as smooth as the asphalt on that portion from plantation going to the corner where the loop started it would have been perfect. Closing the road to all traffic during the race is every bikers wish and the organizers were there to grant it. They deserve an applause and an A++ for this.
Run The cups ran out in my second loop but Rico was there to pour me bucket of fresh water every time i pass his spot. Merle C, was talking about pain when i pass her by but i was thinking of mine too. Nogi B, was egging me "go fiscal" on his way to the finish but i though it was my judge asking me to object the run. Dang that fiscal thing. I was praying for that second wind but it didnt come that day so I tried to hide from the high and mighty sun but he found me just the same and reminded me of his power but cracking me little headache forcing me to take liquids, liters and liters of it after the game.
Drained, exhausted...name it, we had it. We were gasping for air, aching muscles were sending neurons to our brain begging us to stop and the shades we wore failed to hide the agony in our face, but it was amazing we managed a wry of smile if not the thumbs up sign as we pass each other by. This is why I love the spirit of the tri's.

a very kind race report i must say 2 thumbs up! I tried to see any write ups of the game but failed to see one so i dared to make mine.

The marshals were also to be given credit for restricting the area to outsiders considering the valuables inside. Considering the number of players at 200, which far exceeds the normal of 50 or so, it was underwtandable that the place was a little cramped. Im sure the area will be expanded next year.

mackoy, joecax & el toro, Thanks. i should have posted earlier at welcome thread since im new to the site but i find the write up necessary both for the players who may have the same experience as mine and the organizers to strengthen what is positive and to improve or rectify the shortcoming, but always in a good way with the clear of all intentions. After all we wouldn't have the time money sweat blood ???and tears and all forms of bodily liquids spent on events like this if we didn't love the game. to the few and the proud, ( dili u.s. marines ha), see you in the next race.
