it was indeed a great triathlon. with some minor problem to be considered but some important concerns could have been addressed. like the results that came from three newspaper odds were different. only organizers should have posted an official awarding picture not people with personal interest like team maximo. it turned out to be like it was his race not of matthew's, naga or even sugbutri. he can ask the media for a separate write-up of that boy he's promoting in the picture. good thing was, the freeman did not accept the pic. as far as i could remember, he was trying to escort that boy but also pretending to be one of the officials. calling attention to our group somewhere during the bike leg. there were 4 of us doing drafting and he stopped us saying it's illegal. is that person really part of sugbutriathlon organizers? can the organizer do something? race briefing said drafting is ok, so he must not be part of the group. you will see next time he yells at me. this situation must not be allowed. international event does not allow illegal escorts and paranoia pretend official. this should be part of the rules or say, no paranoid people around.
the swim leg is the worst. determine high tide low tide to lower the stair step. it's not friendly because there should be ropes and buoys surrounding the swim turns. the balloons is really funny could have gotten a bigger one like in cam-sur. some officials are panicking, they move on and off the extra buoys delaying the start.
who is your boss? tell your members to have proper channeling of who will decide. they must inform the president first.

have no idea about the different results that came out in the 3 dailies. as far as we knew, we gave out an official result to all the newspapers right after the race. don't think we can really tell the media in putting an official picture for publication. we can send them pictures or give a suggestion for the official picture but eventually they have the final say on what to put up. i believe they have their own editors to take care of that. i do agree with you that certain people have their own personal interest in the media. that's really pathetic and should not be allowed.
can you give us the name of the person who stopped you in the bike leg? we allowed drafting in the race. job cereño also had a similar experience when he was told to not draft from maximo in the bike.
for the stairs, we asked naga to build it specifically for the race. we argued that it's going to be low tide on race day but they insisted otherwise.
we apologize for the lack of ropes/buoys in the swim leg. bantay-dagat, a volunteer group from naga promised to install the ropes/bouys at 5:30AM on race day but they never did it. this won't happen again. thanks for your comment! we appreciate it

hellow, welcome to this site.
that was joecax, our president........... me too....... am one of the organizers but were being shout at with this Chinese looking bossing......... (he is not one of us, he is unauthorized and a nuisance........)
next time, we don't allow bandits...... or else the athlete he escorted be disqualified..... that's my plan but then again......... the core group would have to decide. i'll wait until the meeting is set to give you update
yes i agree with you........ thanks for your help... it won't happen again.
please do not hesitate to speak-up, it's really helping us............... we hope to race with you again....

i agree with boy mindanao, escorts should not be allowed...specially during the bike leg as it might cause accidents. I believe the escort of igi max was his father on the green crosswind(not sure as to the brand of the ride). i almost hit him head on when he passed by some cyclist to get to igi occupying the other lane already.
The race officials made it clear, DRAFT LEGAL! So sucking was allowed that day.
well, hopefully we can ask them to make the landing lower on next year's race. Would like to give a thumbs up also for their effort in providing some scuba divers around the swim leg. the only race i know of with scuba divers is at the Philippine IM. Again, Naga and SugbuTri can learn from it's mistakes and hope to do better next year.
As to the newspaper, i was disappointed and shocked not to see the photo of matthew! It was his race, therefore his action photo should be on the papers and not the relay team. unless he was so fast everyone can't get a focused pic of him for the papers.
mindanao boy, i appreciate you speaking out and surely SugbuTri needs someone like you to make our sport better. Hope you can help with the next project which is the SRP Duathlon. You can always get in touch with Joecax if you can help.

To Mindanao_boy....
thank you so much.....for the comments and findings that you shared with us.... all of those things are noted and in fact is also on my lists of the shortcomings that we have...and that we are sure will be improved and corrected on the next races that will be organized by sugbutri....
i think the rest of the guys who spearheaded the event have their observations too.
we will definitely do more the next time...

these type of critics are a really big help when we are looking for improvement, so a big thanks mindanao boy for addressing the flaws.. as for the bike leg nuissance, i was told.. and also almost got maimed by that SUV. and what's really regretable is the newspaper i bought had a picture of the 2nd placer of the relay category, what sense does it make.. i agree with joecax, those kinds of people are pathetic, begging for attention..
