CARMEN'S PRIDE CONFIRMS POTENTIAL, PLACES 3RD @ IM 70.3 PHILS.
CAMSUR, PHILIPPINES - The pride of Carmen, Cebu, Ralph Martin Sios-e, made Cebuanos proud by finishing on the podium at IM 70.3 Phils. at CAMSUR last August 22, 2010. Ralph crossed the finish line after 5 hrs. 22 mins. of this lung busting, leg sapping 1.9 kms. swim, 90 kms. bike and 21.1 kms. run to finish 3rd in the 18-24 age group category.
SOMEWHAT SURPRISED
Ralph Sios-e admitted that he was surprised to make it on the podium as he said he lacked training for the run, coupled with a slight flu the week before the race. Sheer guts made this future triathlon star push himself way beyond his mental and physical capabilities. Rap, as he is fondly called by close friends, said, "it feels great to be on the podium, in my first 70.3 race, despite a lack in running form".
A STAR ON THE RISE
Having navigated the swim in 40 mins., cycling leg in 2 hrs. 23 mins., and the run in 2 hrs. 11 mins., Rap confirms his potential as a future star in this triathlon crazy country. Smart training and a full support cast has enabled this promising triathlete to perform well. Quipped rap, " I intend to keep my good form for either Davao triathlon and possibly Clearwater, Florida.
